Having your own website is one of the best ways to expand your business especially in a world revolving around the internet. It can allow you and your business to reach a global market and it allows your customers an easy way of contacting or transacting with you. The hard part is actually making your website as this would require extensive knowledge in programming and web design that generally people are unfamiliar with. Outsourcing or hiring a professional to do this task for you can also set you back a lot of money, which is ok for large corporations who can afford it but what about those that can’t? Are they doomed to be left of the world wide web because of financial reasons?

Edicy, a company established in 2008 and now known as Voog, gives us a solution to this as it allows anyone to create their own website without having any programming or web design knowledge. Though this does come with its own price tag, it is a lot cheaper than hiring a professional. And in this review we would be looking at why Edicy or Voog, would be a good choice for you.

Pros

Pricing – Voog is one of the more affordable web builders on the market with its different paid subscriptions.
Mobile Site Integration – Having your website optimized for viewing on a mobile device is also important as more people access the internet through mobile phone. This is also another plus with Voog as websites created using it are automatically optimized for mobile phone used. Meaning you also get a mobile version of your website as you are creating the desktop browser one.
Simplistic Interface – Using Voog does not require an IT degree of anykind, it is very simplistic and easy to get used to. There is very little clutter to distract the user and the tool bar is very easy to understand. The drag-and-drop function lets you select an element and place it exactly where you would want it on your website. Anyone who has made a blog or

Cons

Templates – Voog offers premade templates to use for your website and though the designs are very well made, they cannot be edited unless you go into the code. It would have been nice to be able to edit the themes as you would have if you made it from scratch. Themes help users who have little to no idea how their website should look like get good start with designing and they should be allowed to customize those themes. (Well you can if you go into the code, but the reason we decided to use a web builder is so that we wouldn’t have to do that.)
Support – Voog’s customer support is what you would normally expect and that’s not such a good thing. Customer support is very important as certain issues need to be resolved immediately or it will result in opportunity loss for businesses. Meaning if you have a problem with your website and it takes long for customer support to resolve it, could result in loss of potential business or sales. Voog only offers Email based and Forum based customer support which is not too efficient as telephone support or live chat.
Domains – Domains for your website would come at a price (Unless you are a Pro user, then it’s free). The free version also has the format “website.edicy.com” so you are bound to the brand. Though this is common practice in most web builders, it would be nice to not have to pay extra for domains if you are already a paid users. This adds costs which in the cases of small businesses, have to be minimized.

You can choose the type of subscription based on your website’s needs. They also have a FREE version that enables you to experience using Voog and create a website (limited features of course). The subscription prices for Voog are as follows:

Standard €8 ($11)/month or €6 ($8) / Month if billed annually
Plus €14 ($18)/month or €10 ($13) / Month if billed annually

Voog also lets you pay for these plans using any major credit card, PayPal or money transfer.

Voog Thinks Globally

Although English is the dominant language on the internet, having multilingual pages is certainly a plus. In some cases such as Canada, you are required to have a French version of your website as well as an English version. Having multilingual support also extends the reach of your company and lets you target certain country or nationality better which ultimately will be good for your website and your business.

This is where Voog is a cut above the rest as it offer the best multilingual support among web builders. Not only do they support a wide range of languages but it works seamlessly with the English page. Each translated page is located in the same sit structure so site visitors can be on any of your websites subpages and go directly to its translated version with the click of a button.

Setting it up is very easy too, you would just have to click a button “add+” on the top right corner of your screen as you are making or editing the website and select what language you would add. Though Voog does not translate the content for you, then again no web builder does automatic translations, it does create the translated page specific to the language you selected.

This feature opens up the world market not only to people that want to use Voog, but to the people who use Voog to open their respective businesses to the world market.

Voog Review 2020 – Conclusion

Voog may not be the best web builder in terms of features but it is one of the better options in terms of pricing and what you get for your money. You would be able to build a comprehensive website using Voog with relative ease because of the interface though you would not be able to get any customization if you use their templates (assuming you don’t want to go into the code). With the Plus Version going at $13/month, it is very affordable for small to medium businesses, and if not the Standard Version is only $8/month. Good thing is they do offer a Free version so you can just jump in and get your hand dirty so to speak without paying anything.
