Businesses have now taken to the internet in an attempt to reach a broader market. Internet traffic has steadily increased over the years, and with the innovation of the smartphone, even more and more people have easy access to the internet. Creating a functional website for your business however, is not as easy making a social media account. It involves programming and web design knowledge that takes years to learn and even more to master to be able to build more than just a basic website. Or so we thought.

Web builders have grown in numbers so now you have hundreds of options to choose from. They all offer the same basic idea, building your website without the need for coding or programming. WebStarts is one of those companies. A DIY web builder the promises hundreds of features to choose from, this review will show us more about them.

Pros

Social Media Integration – Social media is a big part of everyone’s lives, most of the time spent on the internet is on social media. Having integration for social media sites like Instagram and Facebook helps promote your site and creates a familiarity for your site visitors.
Easy Access Domain Names – Just enter the domain name you want and WebStarts will tell you if it is available or not. This feature is not available in the free version (it never is with any web builder), but you do get it when you have a paid version of WebStarts.
Tutorials – WebStarts helps you help yourself as they offer tutorial articles and videos to get you started on building your website and for every step along the way.
Easy Interface – WebStarts makes it easy for you to build your own website with their drag-and-drop functionality. No need to know how to code or program, just drag-and-drop and build your website like a pro.

Cons

Lackluster Templates – Although WebStarts offers over a hundred templates to choose from, they lack quality and substance.
Limited Customer Support – Webstarts offer email and forum support as well as a blog for Free and Pro users. They do offer phone support for Pro+ users but no live chat support. There is also a 1-800 number posted on almost every page of their website though it does not state that it is for technical support.
Errors in the Program – Some problems have been encountered when using WebStarts web builder itself; and though they are very minor, it’s the little things that add up that make using it difficult.
Not Mobile Optimized – WebStarts boasts about not dumbing down your website to fit in a mobile phone’s screen, but instead displaying it on mobile devices in all its glory. It’s bad enough they don’t do mobile optimization, but they also had to make it sound like that was a good thing.

Quantity over Quality

Although WebStarts offers over a hundred templates to choose from, they lack quality and substance. Firstly, the template only supplies you with one design for all your web pages. Meaning if the template has a large banner for you to place your business name and a picture to act as the main page, that’s the template you will be working on for the rest of the pages. So basically the templates are just for the main page and color scheme, you need to make the rest of the pages from scratch. Some of the templates are poorly designed as well, as if to just add to the number of templates.

Frustrating Web Builder

While it’s true that drag-and-drop functionality makes for an easy to use interface, that doesn’t count for much if the builder itself is buggy. Little things like not being able to add a hyperlink to a text box even if you follow the steps in the tutorial, removing content that removes everything–even the theme–and leaves you with literally a blank page. Worse, hitting undo doesn’t make things better. Things like that can be very frustrating when you are making your website.

The Price is RIGHT!

The price of WebStarts is possibly its best feature. It is probably the cheapest web builder you will find. When you look at their pricing on their website, you will notice a big red circle on the upper left corner saying “Exclusive offer. GET 50% OFF! Today only”, which as you will come to realize, is offered every day. So let’s just take the price as is. They are as follows:

Free Version: FREE

No custom domain name, 5 web pages, 10MB website storage and 5GB Bandwidth

ProVersion: $4.89/month

One custom domain name, 15 web pages, 1000MB website storage and 25GB Bandwidth

Pro+ Version: $7.16/month

One custom domain name, unlimited web pages, 5000MB website storage and 100GB Bandwidth

The highest version falls in comparison to other web builders but comes at an extremely low price. Then again you get what you pay for so you could go with the Free version and if it works out for you then you can upgrade to a paid subscription. WebStarts will surely not forget to remind you to upgrade from a free version every now and then.

WebStarts Review 2020 – Conclusion

There are a lot of available web builders in the market and WebStarts does not come highly recommended among them. Although they are competitive in terms of the price, a mere $7.16/month for the Pro+, they lack quite a number of features and have subpar performance on their builders. When choosing a product, it is not always about the straight up price but what you get for your money and spending on a WebStarts subscription may cause you more troubles and stress than if you would have paid a little more money on another web builder with a better over-all performance. Upside is they do offer a free version so you can take WebStarts for a test drive and see if it works out fine for you.

These guys are the worst. They are rude, assuming you get a reply from the so called customer service. They are not secure, with me and many others getting there cards hacked by either them or a third party that is in there system.
