Pricing

As mentioned previously, RingCentral’s cost is rather high compared to some of its peers in the industry. But then again, it is one of the most comprehensive cloud-based phone systems out there, so the high cost is rather justified. And if you are still a bit hesitant due to the price, they also offer another service that would cost you less – but you would have to deal with limited minutes as a tradeoff. So which is better suited to you? Here are both of their offerings:

RingCentral Office: This is for businesses that need a robust VoIP solution. It won’t come cheap, but there are 3 plans that you can choose from that best fits your budget and needs. Take note that the price for each plan will depend on the number of users, and if you are going for a subscription with monthly billing, a monthly billing with contract, or an annual billing. You can take each plan out for a 30-day free trial, if you wish. Here are their prices for comparision.

Standard – For the monthly billing route, this plan starts at $29.99/month for one user, then goes down in price as you add more users. For 2-9 users, this will cost you $31.99/month/user; for 20-99 users, $34.99/month/user; and for 100-999 users, it will set you back $29.99/month/user.

If this seems a little expensive for you, you can get the monthly billing with a contract. This reduces the prices to $42.99/month for one user, $27.99/month/user for 2-9 users, $24.99/month/user for 20-99 users, and $22.99/month/user for 100-999 users.

Finally, the annual billing will set you back $34.99/month x 12 for one user, $24.99/month x 12/user for 2-9 users, $21.99/month x 12/user for 20-99 users, $19.99/month x 12/user for 100-999 users.

Premium – Monthly billing prices for this plan will set you back $54.99/month for 1 user, $44.99/month/user for 2-9 users, $41.99/month/user for 20-99 users, and $39.99/month/user for 100-999 users.

For monthly billing with contract, you will have to pay $47.99/month for 1 user, $37.99/month/user for 2-9 users, $34.99/month/user for 20-99 users, and $32.99/month/user for 100-999 users.

For the annual billing, expect to pay $44.99/month x 12 for 1 user, $34.99/month x 12/user for 2-9 users, $31.99/month x 12/user for 20-99 users, and $29.99/month x 12/user for 100-999 users.

Enterprise – For this plan, unsurprisingly, expect to shell out even more. The monthly prices are as follows: $69.99/month for 1 user, $59.99/month/user for 2-9 users, $54.99/month/user for 20-99 users, and $49.99/month/user for 100-999 users.

Meanwhile, monthly prices with a contract are as follows: $62.99/month for 1 user, $52.99/month/user for 2-9 users, $47.99/month/user for 20-99 users, and $42.99/month/user for 100-999 users.

Finally, if you want to pay annually then expect to shell out $59.99/month x 12 for 1 user, $49.99/month x 12/user for 2-9 users, $44.99/month x 12/user for 20-99 users, and $39.99/month x 12/user for 100-999 users.

If your business is large and needs a VoIP solution to cover for 1,000 or more people, you would have to contact their sales team in order to get a price quote.

RingCentral Professional: If you are looking for a more low-cost alternative – or if you prefer a mobile solution – then this is for you. This is an inbound VoIP management solution for mobile professionals, which allows you to route calls to you or your employees, anywhere and at anytime. The drawback to this is that minutes are more limited and the features are, understandably, not as comprehensive compared to the RingCentral Office. The prices are as follows:

Pro – For the monthly billing you would have to pay $22.99 per month, whereas for the annual billing, you would have to pay $12.99 per month. For additional minutes, the rate is 4.9¢/minute.

ProPlus – If you want to go for a monthly billing, this plan will set you back $29.99 per month. Annually, on the other hand, will cost you $19.99 per month. In case you go over your minutes, additional ones will cost you 4.4¢/minute.

ProPower – The most premium of the bunch, this plan costs $39.99 per month. If you want to reduce that price, the annual billing – now at $24.99 per month – is the way to go. Additional minutes, meanwhile, will cost you 3.9¢/minute.

Add-Ons – RingCentral Professional also allows you to expand the capabilities of your system via add-ons. You can purchase additional virtual extensions, for example. This will set you back $2.99 per month. Or you can purchase more toll-free or local numbers, which goes for $4.99 per month. If you want additional fax numbers, on the other hand, prepare to pay $4.99 per month as well. Finally, if you want to get a vanity number, a one-time fee of $30 is required.

Overall, the prices for both of RingCentral’s offerings are on the more expensive side of the spectrum – especially RingCentral Office. If you are on a tight budget, then you might want to consider something else. But if features are of prime importance to you, then you are in for a treat.

Features

As previously mentioned, RingCentral blows some of its competition out of the water when it comes to features. Unfortunately, the starting plan for their Office solution has several limitations – which is a bit disappointing considering the already high price. Nevertheless, this is the most affordable of the three, especially if you go for a monthly billing with contract, or an annual one. And it still does offer quite a bit of meat.

For starters, you get robust call management features which let you forward, transfer, flip or screen calls, get notifications, an intercom system, and more. You also get a mobile app for iPhone, iPad or Android devices. Unlimited calling is also present here, plus you get 1,000 toll-free minutes. Conference calls, internet faxes, and business SMS make up the rest of the unlimited features on tap. For multipoint mobile and desktop conferencing in HD, and online meetings, you are allowed 4 persons per meeting. Other features include: Glip for team collaborations, US-based implementation and support, 99.999% high-availability SLA, third-party integrations with Microsoft, Google, Box, and Dropbox, call log reports, and even the option to rent desk or conference phones (for an added monthly fee).

If you want 2,500 toll-free minutes, 25 people in a mobile or desktop online meeting, inbound caller ID, HD voice, automatic call recording, a multi-level auto attendant, integrations with Salesforce, Zendesk, and Desk.com, and single sign-on – on top of all the features of the previous plan – then Premium should do the trick. Finally, if you want all of the features of the previous two plans, plus bumped up toll-free minutes (now up to 10,000 minutes), 50 people per online meeting, and voicemail-to-text, then RingCentral’s Enterprise plan might be more your speed.

As for the RingCentral Professional plans, features are not as comprehensive as the Office, though this is because they serve different purposes. To give you an idea, the Pro plan provides 300 local, long distance or toll-free minutes, 2 extensions, internet fax, and web support. Next, the ProPlus allots 1,000 minutes, provides internet fax with a dedicated fax number, 5 extensions, a dial-by-name directory, and phone and web support. Finally, the ProPower provides 2,000 minutes, 10 extensions, and all of the features of the previous plan.

All RingCentral Professional plans also include features such as inbound call management, voicemail with free email delivery, advanced call forwarding, an auto-receptionist, flexible answering rules, call queues, mobile phone integration, and the abilities to use any existing phone system, as well as keep your existing number.

Other Products

As if the aforementioned features aren’t enough, RingCentral also provides other services that could benefit your business. Contact Center, for starters, is an easy-to-use cloud solution that can boost your call center operations. Glip, meanwhile, is their team collaboration tool. Global Office gives you a secure communications network for all of your office locations, international or otherwise. Finally, RingCentral Fax is, as the name implies, their take on faxing. This gives you more modern features, such as the ability to fax anywhere, from any device.

Customer Support

Overall, RingCentral offers great customer support thanks in part to comprehensive self-help options. You can peruse a helpful FAQ section, a knowledgebase, a learning center, guides and videos, and even a community forum where you can mingle with or ask help from fellow RingCentral users. A minor gripe: their US-based support is only available for those with 20 or more user accounts – which is true for all plans. This could be a bit of an issue, especially for businesses that do not meet the requirements but are paying for the more expensive plans. Other than that small quibble, RingCentral’s support options are pretty good.

RingCentral Review 2020 – Conclusion

What more is there to say? If you are looking for a robust cloud-based phone system solution that provides a ton of features and functionality, then RingCentral should definitely be at the top of your list. Not only to you get advanced call management features, you also get unlimited calling and conferencing features, online meetings, and more. And if you are a mobile professional, or have employees that are constantly out on the field, then the Professional should cover your needs. That said, RingCentral’s offerings are on the pricier side of things, especially compared to other services. But if money isn’t an issue and getting a boatload of features are more important to your business, then you should definitely give this a shot.
