Gaydar allows prospective users to register for free. Unlike many competing services, Gaydar’s free account is actually usable, though it’s still saddled with significant restrictions. You’ll be able to communicate with other users, though you can only send a maximum of 8 messages and view up to 30 profiles per day. There are other limits, such as on the number of photos you can upload, and other features like galleries and advanced search will be inaccessible to you.
If you want access to all of Gaydar’s features, you’ll have to get a paid subscription. There are a number of billing cycles you can choose from. Prices tend to vary depending on what country you’re based in, so it’s best to check for the fees from your account dashboard.
Gaydar takes payments through credit cards, postal orders, and mail-in checks.
Features
Gaydar used to be one of the broader communities out there, unfortunately, the update they rolled out for the website in mid 2019 stripped out a lot of what makes them great. That said, their platform can still be used to find potential dates, although it is safe to say that you will find better gay dating sites which can offer you more potential connections.
Gaydar has a relatively quick registration process. Instead of lengthy, in-depth personality assessments, you’ll instead tag your profile with keywords corresponding to your traits, attributes, and preferences. These are optional, but it’s best if you take the time to fill these out, because these serve as the main basis for how Gaydar compiles match results. You’re also allowed to upload photos to give others a better idea of your appearance and personality, and paid subscribers can organize these into galleries if they want.
You can also use status messages on your profile to display what you’re mainly using Gaydar for — everything from seeking a long-term relationship to just looking to chat — with the option to whip up a custom status if you feel like it. That said, most users come to Gaydar for casual chats and no-strings-attached relationships, so this might not be the best option if you’re looking to commit.
Matching and Search Options
Gaydar has Match and Meet, a feature that lets you scroll through user profiles and photos. If you rate a user highly, Gaydar sets that as a match. Aside from this, paid users have Cupid Search, an automatic search function that takes your custom preferences and sends matches directly to your inbox every day.
You can also run manual searches, whether that’s based on location and distance criteria or more advanced filters that are only available on paid plans. Gaydar also displays a list of online users and Gaydar members who are near your real-time location. All together, these give you even more options for both online and in-person mingling.
And if you happen to be on the move? You can add a trip and include your itinerary so other members know if you will be within their area and what you are up to for your visit. Gaydar also gives paid users the Travel Planner, which lets you plan meet-ups with users at your destination. Adding places to your itinerary prompts Gaydar to make your profile available to users in those areas beforehand, too, so you get more visibility in the lead-up to your arrival.
Communication Tools
Direct messaging is still the main way to communicate with other users on Gaydar, though you can also send photos and video messages through this system if you like. Real-time communication through instant messages is also possible, though. If you want to be a bit less direct when you start contacting other users, you can begin by leaving comments on people’s profiles or adding users as favorites or friends to get updates on their posts.
Gaydar has apps for both iOS and Android, which let you bring all the features of the main site with you wherever you go.
Privacy and Security
Gaydar lets you set your profile to “private” if you want to lay low for a while. You can toggle privacy settings for your uploaded media too, and for more direct action, Gaydar lets you block any users whom you don’t want to communicate with.
You can also report abusive or offensive behavior through Gaydar’s handy Report button.
Customer Support
Gaydar can be reached mainly through email or its online contact form. In addition, the service maintains a presence on popular social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. The Gaydar site itself also features a fairly thorough FAQ section as well as an active blog.

Gaydar Review 2020 – Conclusion
Established in 1999, Gaydar used to be one of the stalwarts of the online dating scene; for some reasons though, the update they made to the platform negatively affected their users, resulting to drones of members leaving. That said, it’s not quite as sleek or shiny as the newest sites and apps out there, but it still covers the essentials pretty well. It puts a host of search and communication tools at your fingertips, and with users from different countries there with you, the chances of finding a worthwhile connection are still pretty high. Though it’s not the newest or flashiest option out there, Gaydar’s still worth a look. Check it out today!

Gaydar is now the worst site, nobody ever online now,I live in ireland there used be a few thousand guys online at one time, now there is just 5 to 8 guys online, just back from andalucia, where there where also a 100 guys online, when I logged in I was the only person online, Gaydar is useless now..bring back the old website please,or I am deleting my profile.
You can rest assured that the partner too will just love the appearance and feel
of silk on you. In the winter, it might actually assist in keeping your body heat in, especially if paired with a light robe.
As you can observe, men’s silk pajamas come up with a perfect gift for virtually any
guy who enjoys having something luxurious to lounge or sleep in.
Hmmm. Obviously this review was written BEFORE the update in April / May 2017. The site is now all but useless, with many of the features removed. In fact, it’s not even a site any more, it’s purely an app. Before it was a website with mobile access, now it’s just an app. Many features have gone, search is pathetic, you can’t see who viewed you unless you pay, in fact you cant do much unless you pay. Free unlimited messaging? And just who are you going to message, users have left in droves since the disastrous update. All of the contacts (75 people ) on my favourite list havent logged in since the update, whereas they used to be on daily. I have 3 new members aged under 35 within 100 miles of me joined within the last 30 days. 2 of those havent been online for 2 weeks. It’s a disaster. The website was good, original and by far the best for content etc. The update has made it just another hook-up app, with few members and profiles that havent been online for months or years.
