Features
Like many other digital sportsbooks, NetBet’s is just one of many online gambling offerings of a single company. The arrangement is similar to that of Sky Bet; in fact, even the front page layout is comparable. Here, links to NetBet’s casino, lotto, and poker portals are displayed prominently next to the company’s logo. In fact, almost everything is accessible through and loads within the main page of the website–the exception being the help and FAQ section and the registration process, which both utilize pop-up windows–which may account for a slight lag in loading times.
NetBet lists everything from football and basketball, to Gaelic hurling and surfing; even dipping its toes in non-sports events, such as national elections and entertainment-based competitions like Eurovision. It’s not as comprehensive and extensive, though; that is, compared to the likes of Betway or Bet365. And when it comes to eSports, the options are very limited; as of this writing, not all popular game titles are supported. However, worth noting here is that NetBet–like some of its competitors–may not update quickly, or even list game titles at all when there are no matches to bet on.
Signing up and Depositing to Your Account
Registering as a NetBet user is a four-step process. Verification may be undertaken down the line–with the usual provision of documentation and to make sure that you are of age and in an allowed location–but it’s not an outright requirement. First, you’ll be asked to provide an email address, choose your location and preferred currency, and create a password. Second, you’ll be prompted to create a username and to fill out personal details: full name, gender, birth date. Third, you’ll need to give your exact address and your mobile number.
The fourth stage is simply titled “Bonus” and asks for promotional information–specifically a referrer name or bonus code–which is a little confusing, because there is no mention of a referral program for NetBet’s sportsbook anywhere. However, upon further inspection, NetBet does have referral programs particularly active for its casino and poker portals–and since each user is allowed to have only one active account, it follows that these may very well be connected.
Deposits and withdrawals are easy, and there are no fees, apart from those of third party banking partners. For the most part, there are no amount restrictions; just a minimum withdrawal amount of $10. Once there’s money in your account, you can start placing wagers.
eSports Betting and Cash Out Options
You can make pre-match and live bets on eSports listing, and there are half a dozen types of bets to choose from, including outright bets and other similar ones, like tournament finalist bets. Bets are easily sorted by league or type and odds are easily visible. Game-specific bets seem to be lacking; even NetBet’s vaunted combo bet seems to only apply to traditional sports–basketball, football, ice hockey, tennis and the like–and not to eSports games.
Like some competitors, NetBet offers cash out options for some bets. While most offer the chance to cash out in full, not many offer partial cash outs, which is a point in this sportsbook’s favor.
Promotions and VIP Club
For heavy bettors, there’s a whole in-site ranking system with its own achievements and rewards. Currently, the biggest prize of the ongoing event–what the company calls the NetBet Cup–is a car! This may encourage you to bet bigger amounts at a more regular schedule, and it obviously works well with other promotions. Combo boosts and other bonuses introduce you to other sports you might never have thought of following or betting on; and on top of those, a generous welcome bonus credits you 50% of your first deposit. You even get a free bet after your first bet made using the mobile app.
There’s also the VIP Sports Club, which purportedly gives you more control over your betting experience–higher stakes, fast-tracked transactions, and even a living and breathing bet manager. Invitations to sporting events and access to exclusive bonuses and rewards are also on the table. To join the club, though, you will have to email the company and express your interest. What happens after that is up to them.
Customer Support
The FAQ and help section is shared among all NetBet offerings, and is good enough; but it’s not comprehensive and does not have a search function. Although there’s a whole page on Sports Rules and a part dedicated to eSports, there’s not much offered to eSports bettors beyond definitions of bet types.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the FAQ and help section, there’s no recourse but to contact NetBet’s support team. To do this, you can fill out an online form, send an email, schedule a live chat or call a representative via telephone. What’s worrying here is that there is no service guarantee–some sportsbooks boast of 24/7 service, or at least a short waiting period–that’s displayed anywhere on the website.
What's the Verdict on NetBet?
NetBet Review 2020 – Conclusion
NetBet is a good sportsbook, but not a great eSports betting website. It has the basics down–great banking options, referrals and rewards, promotions, different bet types, and even a mobile app–but if you’re an avid eSports fan and a picky bettor, you won’t be satisfied by what they have to offer. Not all popular eSports are listed, and there’s a lack of game-specific bets. Overall it feels like there’s no thought and effort put into the inclusion of eSports in this sportsbook; it’s just shoehorned in. However, for a casual eSports bettor or someone who’s looking to bet on many different sports, it’s worth a try.
